Wolvaardt and Bosch Power Fidelity Titans Ladies to 10-Wicket Victory Over DP World Lions

Fidelity Titans Ladies produced a dominant performance in the Hollywoodbets Pro20 Series, securing a convincing 10-wicket victory over DP World Lions Women after chasing down their target of 133 runs in just 10.4 overs.

Laura Wolvaardt

After winning the toss and taking to the crease, DP World Lions Women posted 132/6 in their allotted 20 overs. However, the Titans' bowling attack kept the scoring in check, with Paulinah Mashishi claiming the first wicket of the innings to give her side an early breakthrough.

Eliz-Mari Marx was among the standout performers with the ball, claiming two wickets to put further pressure on the Lions' batting line-up. Luyanda Nzuza and Masabata Klaas also contributed with a wicket apiece as the Titans restricted their opponents to a total they would comfortably chase.

The Titans' response was emphatic, with Laura Wolvaardt and Anneke Bosch delivering an unbeaten opening partnership that left the Lions' bowlers searching for answers. Wolvaardt led the charge with a superb unbeaten 91 off just 41 deliveries, striking the ball cleanly and finding the boundary regularly. Bosch provided excellent support with an unbeaten 42 off 24 balls as the pair dismantled the Lions' bowling attack.

The opening duo guided Fidelity Titans Ladies to 137/0 in 10.4 overs, completing the chase without losing a wicket and with 56 balls to spare. Wolvaardt's explosive innings earned her recognition as the key performer, while the partnership with Bosch highlighted the Titans' batting depth and attacking intent in the shortest format.

The comprehensive victory gives Fidelity Titans Ladies a strong statement win in the Hollywoodbets Pro20 Series, while DP World Lions Women will look to regroup ahead of their next fixture as they also lost the Pro50 game the previous day.
