TS Galaxy Queens Senior Players Miss Diepkloof Clash in Protest Over Unpaid Salaries

TS Galaxy Queens' ongoing salary crisis has taken a new turn, with several senior players refusing to travel with the team for Friday's Hollywoodbets Super League fixture against Diepkloof Ladies in Gqeberha.

Basadi in Action understands that Banyana Banyana midfielder and captain Refiloe Jane, alongside experienced players Leandra Smeda, Dineo Magagula, Nicole Michael, Noluthando Vilakazi, Lesego Nkoane and others did not make the trip to the Eastern Cape in protest over outstanding salaries.

The players' decision comes after months of reported uncertainty surrounding salary payments at the club.

Information gathered by Basadi in Action indicates that players and members of the technical team have not been paid consistently since the beginning of 2026 with their payments from 2025 only being made this year. By September, some players and technical staff members were reportedly owed at least four months' salaries.

The players have also reportedly not heard from the club's management regarding the delays in payment and their grievances.

One of the players revealed how distressful it has been, “Mentally we are not okay because we have to pay rent, buy toiletries and food.”

The latest development has now directly affected the team's match preparations, with several of Galaxy Queens' senior players absent for their meeting with Diepkloof Ladies on Friday, 2 October.

The developments also revealed that Head Coach Sizwe Sibiya resigned as coach of TS Galaxy Queens. Sibiya had been with the club since Galaxy acquired their status in 2023.

Sibiya has been instrumental in guiding the team to finish inside the top five of the Hollywoodbets Super League standings since joining topflight.

His resignation leaves another significant gap within the club at a time when questions are being raised about the team's working conditions.

The publication further understands that more members of the technical team also did not travel to Gqeberha.

The absence of the senior members and their head coach means Galaxy Queens will head into the fixture without several players with considerable experience at club and international level.

Galaxy Queens are currently in position four in the Hollywoodbets Super League Super Era stream, with 16 points from nine matches, and will now have to navigate Friday's fixture against Diepkloof amid the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the club.

The player protest and Sibiya's departure point to a growing situation at Galaxy Queens, with the outstanding salary issue now becoming a major concern ahead of the remainder of the season.

Basadi in Action has approached TS Galaxy for comment on the reported outstanding salaries, the players' decision not to travel, the absence of members of the technical team and Sibiya's resignation.

The club's response will be included once received.

  1. I never thought consumer behaviour would be this tough until I hit my third-year modules. After looking through several UK student assignment services, I found expert-level guidance that genuinely made a difference in how I approached theoretical frameworks. When I finally accessed Consumer Behaviour Assignment Help UK resources, everything clicked into place from Maslow's hierarchy to cultural influences on purchasing decisions. The structured approach helped me build arguments more confidently and cite relevant UK market case studies. My tutor actually commented positively on my improved analysis, which felt like real progress worth mentioning here.
