Fidelity Titans Dominate DP World Lions with 215-Run Victory in Hollywoodbets Pro50

Sune Luus produced a sensational batting performance, smashing 167 off 131 deliveries to lead the Fidelity Titans Ladies to a commanding 215-run victory over the DP World Lions Women in the Hollywoodbets Pro50 Series at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Saturday. Her 167-run knock was the standout performance of the match, providing the foundation for the Titans to build a formidable total and place the Lions under immense pressure before their innings even began.

Batting first, the Titans posted an imposing 334/3 in their allotted 50 overs, with Luus delivering a remarkable innings to put her side firmly in control of the contest.  The Lions struggled to contain the hosts before their innings ended at 119 all out in 28.2 overs. The Titans’ substantial total proved too much for the Lions, who found themselves under pressure throughout their chase.

The Lions’ batting innings got off to a difficult start as wickets fell regularly. Manack top-scored with 34 off 48 deliveries, while Brits contributed 23 off 38 balls. Sunette added 17 off 21 deliveries, but the visitors were unable to build the partnerships needed to challenge the Titans’ total. Razeena was another contributor with eight runs, while Ntozakhe scored 12 off 31 deliveries. However, the Lions’ innings lacked the momentum required to mount a serious fightback, and they were eventually bowled out for 119.

Wyngaard was particularly effective with the ball, claiming five wickets as she dismantled the Lions’ batting order. Mashishi and Nzuza also made important contributions, taking two wickets each to ensure the Titans maintained control. The Titans’ disciplined bowling effort complemented their impressive batting performance, sealing a comprehensive victory and underlining their strength in the competition.

For the Lions, the defeat will provide valuable lessons as they look to regroup and improve in their upcoming fixtures. The result gives the Fidelity Titans an emphatic boost in the early stages of the Hollywoodbets Pro50 Series, while the DP World Lions will be eager to respond when the two sides meet again in the Hollywoodbets Pro20 competition on Sunday.

Final score:

Fidelity Titans Ladies: 334/3 (50 overs) Vs  DP World Lions Women: 119 all out (28.2 overs)
