The Hollywoodbets Super League returns with another important weekend of action as teams in the Super Era and Super Rise prepare for fixtures that could have a major impact on the table.
In the Super Era, all eyes will once again be on unbeaten leaders Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, who travel to Gqeberha to face Richmond United on Sunday, 4 October at 09:00 at Westbourne Oval. Hollywoodbets SL Top Goalscorers
Sundowns have been almost impossible to break down this season. The defending champions have won all nine of their matches, scoring 30 goals without conceding once. Their latest performance underlined their dominance as they defeated Copperbelt Ladies 4–0 on 26 September.
Richmond United will have a difficult challenge on their hands, but home advantage could give them something to build on. The Gqeberha outfit will need to be organised defensively and clinical when opportunities come their way if they are to stop Sundowns’ remarkable run.
Before that, Friday’s action sees TS Galaxy Queens take on Diepkloof Ladies at 13:30, followed by Copper Belts FC against Stellenbosch FC at 16:00.
Saturday brings another interesting contest when UWC face the University of Pretoria at 09:00. Both sides have been among the stronger performers in the Super Era, making this a fixture with plenty at stake as the teams continue their push near the top of the table. Earlier in September, AmaTuks produced a 4–0 victory over Stellenbosch, with Siyamthanda Qashani scoring a hat-trick and taking her league tally to seven goals at the time.
The Super Rise will also provide plenty of action, with unbeaten JVW FC facing Ezemvelo Women’s FC on Saturday at 11:00. JVW have been one of the standout sides in the stream, while Ezemvelo will be looking to make home advantage count.
University of Fort Hare will then meet Ramatlaohle Ladies at 15:00, before Sunday’s programme sees University of Johannesburg take on TUT FC at 11:00 and First Touch FC Ladies face City Lads at 15:00.
With the season moving deeper into its decisive stages, every point carries greater importance. The leaders will be looking to maintain their momentum, while the chasing teams will know that dropped points could make the road to the top even harder.
