Mali Set for Emotional Reunion as Sundowns and Tuks Battle in Tshwane Derby

The stage is set for an intriguing Tshwane derby in the Hollywoodbets Super  League as Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies prepare to face the University of  Pretoria (AmaTuks), with Khunjulwa Mali set to come up against her former club.

The two sides will meet on Sunday, 20 September at Oscar Mpetha Stadium at the University of Limpopo, with both teams having plenty to play for.  Sundowns currently lead the Super Era stream, while Tuks have established  themselves among the teams challenging near the top of the standings. 

For Mali, the fixture carries an added level of significance. Having previously  been part of the Sundowns setup, the midfielder will now face familiar  teammates while wearing the Tuks colours. 

Her move to Tuks has provided her with an opportunity to play a more  prominent role and showcase her ability on the field. Although she admits  leaving Sundowns was difficult financially, Mali believes the move has been  important for her football career. 

“I’ve always been too much of a gem to be hidden. Not getting enough game  time at Sundowns almost kept me hidden for a long time. Now I’m more  happy at Tuks because I get to showcase my talent,” Mali said. 

The midfielder is also pleased with how her first season at Tuks has  developed, highlighting the positive team environment and the support she  has received from her teammates. 

With Tuks showing strong form in their recent matches, Mali believes the  team has found another level following changes to the starting line-up. 

“I’m so confident about this one. I’ve never seen Tuks on fire like that, and I  don’t think we’ll ever stop. Three points is all we want in that game,” she  said. 

With pride, points and personal history all adding to the occasion, Sunday's  Tshwane derby promises to be a fascinating battle between two ambitious  sides.
