The stage is set for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2026, as the official draw took place on Thursday 15 January, 2026 at the King Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat, Morocco. With the tournament expanded to a record 16 teams, excitement is already building ahead of the continental showpiece, scheduled from 17 March to 3 April 2026.

16 Teams, Four Pots, One Goal
CAF’s draw placed the 16 national teams into four pots based on rankings and tournament history:
Pot 1: South Africa, host nation Morocco, defending champions Nigeria, and Ghana.
Pot 2: Zambia, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, and Algeria.
Pot 3: Senegal, Mali, Egypt, and Burkina Faso.
Pot 4: Cape Verde, Tanzania, Kenya, and Malawi.
With the pots confirmed, anticipation grew as the groups were drawn live, revealing the first round match-ups that will shape the journey toward the WAFCON trophy.
